David and I spotted a big raccoon in Central Park two days ago. It was walking and digging around in the grassy area just on the other side of the stone wall dividing the park from the pedestrian sidewalk of Central Park South. We spotted the same raccoon the next day, even closer to the traffic action. Where did it come from? we wonder. Is there a raccoon population in the park?
It was a very big (i.e. chubby) raccoon...... and it was the first time David and I have seen a raccoon anywhere, let alone in the middle of Manhattan.
